Apollo GraphQL Launches GraphOS Agent Services for Secure AI Access

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 7, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Apollo GraphQL has introduced a new suite of services, GraphOS Agent Services, designed to give artificial intelligence (AI) agents secure, governed, and auditable access to enterprise systems and APIs. This move comes as companies increasingly adopt AI agents to automate and enhance their operations, but face challenges in ensuring these agents have the right level of access to sensitive data and systems.

The new services extend Apollo's platform to AI agents, enabling companies to control what each agent can access and do. GraphOS Agent Services includes several key features: search, identity, policy, and audit. Search helps agents find the right data and tools, while identity manages credentials for agents acting autonomously or on behalf of humans. Policy controls exactly what each agent can see and do, down to an individual field. Audit provides a precise log of everything that happens for observability, insights, and compliance.

Apollo is piloting GraphOS Agent Services with Intuit, which is running an intelligent business on top of real-time data.

Apollo has also expanded the GraphOS MCP Server into a full suite of agent-ready tools for building and managing the graph. The GraphOS Platform API is now exposed to agents, allowing them to drive actions in natural language instead of custom code. Additionally, the GraphOS Operator for Kubernetes can now centrally deploy and manage the Apollo MCP Server alongside other GraphOS infrastructure, simplifying operations for platform teams.

Routine operations are now more efficient with the introduction of GraphOS Router 3.0, which is now in preview. This update introduces a new request pipeline and query planner that dramatically improve performance and reduce resource consumption. On typical workloads, Router 3.0 will spend 95% less time on query planning compared to Router 2.0. The improvement in the most complex graphs is even larger: more than 300x improvement on planning time and up to 97% less memory usage.

Apollo's library of Skills, which teaches agents Apollo's own expertise in Federation, Connectors, the Router, and much more, has grown to 14 skills with more than 47,000 installs. This growth underscores that teams are already putting agents to work inside their GraphQL workflows.

Apollo Summit 2026, the world's largest GraphQL event, is underway in San Francisco from October 6-8. The summit features 30+ sessions from teams proving that an API platform can, and should, become an AI platform. Xolvio and 10kR are featured sponsors, alongside community partners CustomInk and DevITJobs.com. The event includes a fireside chat between DeBergalis and Angie Jones on agentic standards and interoperability.

This underscores the need for companies to implement robust access controls and governance frameworks for AI agents.

Apollo GraphQL, headquartered in San Francisco, continues to lead the way in graph-based API orchestration. With over 1 billion downloads of its open-source software, Apollo has become the standard for working with GraphQL and powers the most innovative brands today. The company's commitment to innovation and security is evident in its latest offerings, which are designed to help enterprises navigate the complex landscape of AI integration.
