Apex Technical School's Culinary Arts program has been named the top culinary school in New York by Learn.org, according to a press release issued on October 15, 2026. The program, which is based in Midtown Manhattan, tops 10 New York schools for its affordable tuition and hands-on kitchen training.
The 24-week program, which includes a 200-hour externship and is approved for Title IV aid, is recognized for its practical culinary training and low cost. Tuition starts at $16,500 before scholarships and grants, making it the lowest-cost licensed culinary arts program in New York State. Apex Technical School, a fully accredited nonprofit career and technical school and a member of Fedcap since 2020, offers this program.
In addition to its ranking, Apex Technical School has also been named a 2024-2025 School of Excellence by ACCSC, one of 19 schools selected from 265 nationwide. The school has been training New Yorkers for skilled-trade careers since 1961 and is known for its Midtown East campus, where students can train in a commercial kitchen and build to a mock restaurant service capstone.
