PHOENIX, AZ, Oct. 08, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- American Home Water & Air has introduced a new water softener designed to address hard water and potential leaks in Arizona homes. The Governor, as the company calls it, combines water softening with built-in leak detection and monitoring capabilities.

According to the press release, The Governor uses high-quality cross-link resin to remove calcium and magnesium from water. This system also monitors household water flow patterns through a connected cellular application, alerting homeowners to unusual activity. The product became available in August and is designed to help homeowners manage their water use and address hard-water conditions.

The system is available in three configurations: 32K, 48K, and 64K. The pricing for these configurations is $3,499, $3,599, and $3,699, respectively. American Home Water & Air developed The Governor using Drop and Fleck plumbing technologies and manufactures it in Phoenix, Arizona. The company states that the system can send alerts through its connected application when a potential leak is detected and can automatically shut off the home's water supply.

The leak-detection functionality is designed to continuously monitor water use and identify changes in household water flow, including potential slow leaks, running toilets, and other unusual activity. The system also includes smart learning, water-consumption data, and a Vacation Mode to allow homeowners to continue monitoring household water use while away from home.

American Home Water & Air claims that reducing mineral buildup can help limit scale accumulation in plumbing fixtures and household appliances. The company also notes potential household benefits associated with softened water, such as improved laundry performance and a better feel for hair and skin after washing.

The Governor comes with a five-year warranty covering specified leak-detection components, including the inner leak valve and modem. The softener equipment, including the resin, fiberglass, and brine tank, carries a 10-year warranty on parts, while installation and repair labor carries a 10-year warranty. The company provides customer orientation covering salt levels, consumption, and system expectations, emphasizing the importance of maintaining salt levels for proper operation.

For homeowners considering retrofit applications, American Home Water & Air notes that its technicians can discuss existing equipment and available options. The product announcement marks an expansion of the company's residential water-treatment offerings, combining water softening and water-flow monitoring in a single system.
