CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Ambitious Bio, a life sciences and AI infrastructure company, has launched Corpus™, the world's most comprehensive map of protein presence and relative abundance across healthy human tissues. This groundbreaking reference atlas significantly expands the known protein inventory in every tissue comparison, providing a more complete map of the human body for AI and biopharma companies.
Corpus™ was developed to address the critical gap in biological data that has long hindered the advancement of biological AI.
In a series of 181 head-to-head tissue comparisons with major public references and published studies, Corpus™ increased the detected protein inventory every time. The gain in a typical matched tissue ranged from 28% to 78%, with the median shared tissue showing a 56% expansion in the protein parts list. For every 100 proteins already known in a shared tissue, 56 additional proteins were identified by Corpus™.
Ambitious repeated this analysis with the next six largest references, revealing a significant increase in the number of protein types. In the median tissue, the gain ranged from 79% to 138% more protein types than previously visible to researchers. This added visibility carries significant insights for AI and drug researchers to reason on.
The company's first product, Corpus™, focuses on healthy human tissue measured at the protein layer. While the genome is a parts catalog describing what the body could make, proteins are the working parts it actually produces in particular places and at particular levels. Many medicines work by engaging a specific protein, and healthy tissue provides the baseline scientists need to interpret what disease has changed and identify where a medicine might act unintentionally.
Ambitious analyzed healthy tissue expression for 973 proteins (Figure 2) being pursued as drug targets but not yet addressed by an approved medicine. These targets merit particular scrutiny because no medicine aimed at them has yet reached broad real-world use where target-mediated side effects can alert developers to healthy-tissue expression that existing references missed. For 19% of these targets, the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) detected no healthy expression at all, while Corpus™ reported it for the first time. For 77% of the targets, Corpus™ significantly expanded the list of healthy tissues in which expression is detected.
This expanded data set is crucial for drug developers, who often have more promising ideas than they can test due to the high costs and limited availability of clinical trials. A candidate that fails late can consume years of work and capital that could have supported another promising medicine. Corpus™ helps researchers investigate potential risks by showing where a protein targeted in diseased tissue or another protein similar enough for the medicine to bind to it also appears in healthy tissues, highlighting potential sites of unintended harm.
Ambitious is already extending the same system across the continuum from health to disease, additional molecular modalities, and other organisms, while increasing both the resolution and depth of measurement. Each expansion broadens the decisions the data can inform and the biological concepts models can learn.
The launch of Corpus™ marks a significant step in the development of biological AI, providing a more complete map of the human body that can help drive innovation and improve the safety and efficacy of new medicines. As AI moves beyond language into biology, the ability to systematically generate and measure biological data will become a key differentiator.
