CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 8, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- ALZpath, Inc., a leader in blood test-based diagnostic solutions for Alzheimer's disease, has expanded its strategic licensing agreement with Quanterix Corporation. This move aims to advance the development of next-generation Alzheimer's disease biomarker research, leveraging ALZpath's proprietary pTau217 antibody technology on Quanterix's Simoa® research platform.

The expanded agreement builds on the original 2023 partnership, where Quanterix selected ALZpath's antibody to create the Simoa® ALZpath pTau217 Assay for use on Quanterix's Simoa® platform. Since its introduction, this assay has been extensively used in neurodegenerative disease research, appearing in 161 peer-reviewed publications. In December 2025, a landmark population study published in Nature used the Simoa® ALZpath pTau217 Assay to demonstrate the value of deploying pTau217 blood tests at scale and their potential to advance the understanding of global Alzheimer's disease prevalence and next-generation treatments.

The new agreement extends the use of ALZpath's pTau217 antibody into emerging areas of Alzheimer's disease biomarker research. By combining ALZpath's proprietary antibody technology with Quanterix's established Simoa® platform and extensive installed base of research systems, the companies aim to support the continuing evolution of blood-based biomarker tools for diagnosis, disease monitoring, and treatment development.

This expansion reinforces ALZpath's core mission to partner with industry leaders to scale high-performance antibodies across research and clinical applications, making accessible blood-based Alzheimer's testing a global reality. ALZpath's innovations have earned numerous industry honors, including Time Magazine Best Inventions (2024) and Fast Company Most Innovative Companies (2025).

The Simoa® ALZpath pTau217 Assay has been a cornerstone in advancing Alzheimer's disease research, with its widespread adoption and extensive use in peer-reviewed publications. The expanded agreement is expected to further enhance the capabilities of both companies in developing cutting-edge biomarker tools for the diagnosis and monitoring of Alzheimer's disease. By integrating ALZpath's proprietary technology with Quanterix's advanced platform, the companies aim to drive significant advancements in the field, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and the development of more effective treatments.

The expanded agreement is part of a broader strategy to leverage the strengths of both companies in advancing the understanding and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. ALZpath's expertise in developing high-performance antibodies and Quanterix's leadership in sensitive analytical technologies are expected to yield significant benefits for the research community and ultimately for patients.
