CORNELIUS, N.C., Sept. 03, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Alpha Modus Holdings, Inc., a vertical AI company focused on real-time in-store shopper engagement, has expanded its patent portfolio with the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 12,725,176. This marks the firm's 13th granted U.S. patent and covers a novel method for personalizing marketing and advertising based on shopper behavior inside physical stores. The patent, titled "Method for Personalized Marketing and Advertising of Retail Products," was granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on an application filed back in July 2013.
The patent describes a two-system approach that monitors and analyzes a shopper's in-store activity. One system tracks what products a shopper is engaging with, using methods such as shelf position tracking, eye movements, and direct interaction with kiosks or tablets. The second system uses this information to determine the shopper's location and deliver a personalized offer to their mobile device or a sales associate. The offer can include details such as price, in-store product placement, advertising content, coupons, and limited-time price reductions. Additionally, it can provide multiple store locations where the product can be purchased, along with the price at each location.
William Alessi, Chief Executive Officer of Alpha Modus Holdings, Inc., highlighted the significance of this patent, stating, "Retail media spent a decade learning how to talk to shoppers online. The hard part was always the store. This patent covers the handoff: behavior at the shelf on one side, a priced offer in the shopper's hand on the other. We filed on that idea in 2013, and our prior art dates back to that."
Alpha Modus's robust patent portfolio now includes 13 granted U.S. patents, with one additional application pending. The portfolio covers various aspects of real-time consumer behavior analysis, personalized in-store marketing, shelf and planogram intelligence, inventory management, and customer assistance. As previously announced, the company successfully defended its patent in a legal battle against MNTN in August 2026.
According to EMARKETER, U.S. advertisers are projected to spend $71.09 billion on retail media in 2026.1 Alpha Modus's latest patent underscores the company's commitment to leveraging advanced AI technologies to optimize the retail experience, enabling brands and retailers to measure the full impact of digital content, physical interactions, and transaction outcomes.
