LOS ANGELES, Sept. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Alibaba Group Holding Limited (BABA) has been named in a securities fraud lawsuit filed by Schall, Brown & Schwartz LLP, a national shareholder rights litigation firm. The lawsuit alleges that the company violated §§10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 promulgated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to the complaint, Alibaba was under the direct or indirect control of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information, or was otherwise affiliated with the Chinese government. This affiliation could lead the company to be considered a Chinese military company under the National Defense Authorization Act. The risk of the company undertaking a distillation attack on a major Western AI model was not a mere hypothetical, but an actual ongoing activity. Based on these facts, the company’s public statements were false and materially misleading throughout the class period.

The class period for the lawsuit is set from June 26, 2025 to June 24, 2026, with a deadline for potential lead plaintiff appointments set for October 5, 2026. Shareholders who purchased shares of BABA during this period are encouraged to contact Schall, Brown & Schwartz LLP for possible lead plaintiff appointments. Appointment as lead plaintiff is not required to participate in any recovery.

Investors who choose to remain absent class members can also contact the firm through its website at www.schallfirm.com.

The class has not yet been certified, and until certification occurs, you are not represented by an attorney. If you choose to take no action, you can remain an absent class member.
