SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Oct. 07, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Alector, a biotechnology company focused on developing therapies to counteract the progression of neurodegenerative diseases, is set to host a virtual event on October 13, 2026, to discuss the progress of its wholly owned Alector Brain Carrier (ABC)-enabled pipeline.

According to the press release, the webinar will feature the progress of AL137, a next-generation anti-amyloid beta (Aβ) antibody. AL137 is designed to target the pyroglutamate Aβ epitope, combining full Fc effector function with the unique TfR-binding domain of the ABC. This approach aims to limit immune-cell recruitment to reticulocytes while preserving full recruitment to Aβ plaques, thereby reducing hematologic risk without compromising plaque clearance. The antibody is also designed for enhanced brain exposure, reduced ARIA risk, and monthly subcutaneous dosing.

The event will also highlight AL164, an ABC-enabled siRNA program targeting tau, and AL062, another ABC-enabled siRNA program targeting alpha-synuclein. Both programs are designed for once-quarterly subcutaneous dosing and are intended to address intracellular drivers of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Additionally, the company will present preclinical data demonstrating potent target reduction across multiple brain regions for these programs.

Alector’s ABC platform is a proprietary blood-brain barrier (BBB) platform designed to enhance the delivery of therapeutics, achieve deeper brain penetration and efficacy at lower doses, and ultimately improve patient outcomes while reducing costs. The webinar will provide insights into how these brain-penetrant nucleic acid therapies are designed to address the underlying mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases.

The event will be held virtually on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time. A live question and answer session will follow the formal presentation. To access the live webcast, interested parties can register on the Alector website or visit the "Events and Presentations" section at investors.alector.com. An archived replay of the webinar will be available for approximately 90 days following the presentation.

Alector’s commitment to advancing next-generation medicines for neurodegeneration underscores its dedication to improving patient outcomes and addressing the significant health challenges posed by these diseases. The company’s pipeline, including AL137, AL164, and AL062, represents a significant step forward in the development of therapies that could potentially transform the lives of millions of people affected by neurodegenerative conditions.
