TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- AlayaCare, a global leader in home and community care software, recently hosted its annual user conference, Better Outcomes Canada 2026, in Toronto. The event brought together hundreds of home-based care leaders, clinicians, and technology executives to discuss the future of care delivery.
In his opening keynote, Adrian Schauer, the Founder and CEO of AlayaCare, emphasized the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) in home-based care. Schauer noted that while AI is increasingly handling administrative and cognitive tasks, the core value of home-based care lies in the human connection between caregivers and clients.
Schauer also highlighted the importance of maintaining the relationship between caregivers and clients, stating that AI is not meant to replace this connection but to clear the way for it.
The conference also featured a keynote from Andrew McDonald, Chief Product and Technology Officer of AlayaCare, who introduced new capabilities across AlayaFlow's five AI agents: Receptionist, Intake, Scheduling, Clinical, and Billing. Each agent is designed to reduce the administrative burden for caregivers, allowing them to focus more on delivering care.
McDonald emphasized that these new features are not a patchwork of point tools but a comprehensive home-based care operating system built on a single platform.
The conference agenda included a keynote from Elizabeth Keller of Amazon Web Services, a panel on AI and care delivery in Canada with leaders from Paramed and Integracare, and sessions on caregiver retention featuring Caribou and Nevvon. The event concluded with the Better Outcomes Awards and a networking reception celebrating AlayaCare's customer community.
AlayaCare's AlayaFlow platform, which includes the agentic AI capabilities, is designed to serve public, private, and non-profit home-based and community care organizations. The platform manages the entire client lifecycle, including needs assessments, care plans, scheduling, visit and route optimization, and visit verification. Founded in 2014, AlayaCare now employs over 600 people and combines traditional in-home and virtual care solutions to lower the cost of care and achieve better outcomes for clients.
The unveiling of these new AI tools marks a significant step in transforming home-based care, making it more efficient and effective while preserving the human touch that is essential to the care experience.
