Ålandsbanken Issues 250 Million Swedish Kronor Tier 2 Capital Instruments
Ålandsbanken Abp has issued supplementary capital instruments (Tier 2) worth 250 million Swedish kronor, the bank announced on September 1, 2026. The Tier 2 capital instruments, known as "Masskuldebrev," are due to mature on December 8, 2036, and carry a floating rate of interest equivalent to 3-month Stibor plus 155 basis points per annum. The issuance was conducted within the framework of Ålandsbanken's €2 billion senior non-preferred debt, secured debt, and supplementary capital instruments issuance program. The Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority has approved the base prospectus for the program on August 28, 2026. The final terms of the Masskuldebrev will be published in English on the bank's website.
Ålandsbanken plans to apply for listing of the Masskuldebrev on the Nasdaq Helsinki Oy stock list. The proceeds from the issuance of Masskuldebrev, after deducting the costs incurred in connection with the issuance, are intended for the bank’s general business purposes.
