AITX Orders Seven RIO™ 360 Systems for Major University Campus

Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc. (AITX) has expanded its presence in higher education with a significant order from a major public research university in Michigan. The university, which serves more than 25,000 undergraduate and graduate students, has placed an order for seven RIO™ 360 solar-powered security systems through a RAD channel partner. This order marks the beginning of a potential larger deployment, with the university indicating that the initial seven units could be the first of several orders to achieve their total intended RAD solar security deployment.

The RIO™ 360 systems are part of AITX's Robotic Assistance Devices, Inc. (RAD) subsidiary. Each RIO™ 360 system combines two ROSA™ units on a portable, solar-powered platform, providing 360-degree visibility and autonomous security capabilities without the need for permanent power infrastructure. These units can be repositioned as campus activity, construction, and security priorities change, making them ideal for the diverse and distributed nature of university campuses.

Troy McCanna, Chief Security Officer and Chief Revenue Officer of RAD, expressed optimism about the potential for this relationship.

AITX's ROSA™ units, the foundation of RAD's stationary security platform, are already well-established in various industries. ROSA is a multiple award-winning, compact, self-contained, and portable security and communication solution that can be installed and activated in approximately 15 minutes. It offers AI-driven security analytics, including human, firearm, and vehicle detection, license plate recognition, responsive digital signage, audio messaging, and complete integration with RAD's software suite of notification and autonomous response capabilities.

Steve Reinharz, CEO/CTO and founder of AITX and RAD, emphasized the strategic importance of this order. "A seven-system RIO 360 order represents 14 ROSA units. The deployment of RIO 360 systems at the university is expected to contribute significantly to the campus's security and operational efficiency. The university's stated intention is to expand the deployment to approximately 21 RIO systems, which would represent a substantial investment in the campus's security infrastructure. This expansion could potentially lead to cost savings of between 35% and 80% compared to traditional manned security and monitoring, aligning with AITX's broader strategy of redefining the nearly $50 billion U.S. security and guarding services industry.

AITX's solutions are designed to integrate with leading industry platforms and workflows, including an integration with Immix®, a provider of central station and remote monitoring software. The company's operations and internal controls have been validated through successful completion of its SOC 2 Type 2 audit, reinforcing its credibility with enterprise and government clients that require rigorous data protection and compliance standards.
