The offering, named AI/Cockpit Smart Engineering, integrates AI/Cockpit with AWS Transform to accelerate the process of modernizing legacy systems and moving them to the cloud.
AI/Cockpit, AI/R’s software development platform, handles the discovery, documentation, and decomposition of legacy systems. AWS Transform supports code transformation, and the two are connected through AWS Transform’s composability feature, allowing partners to develop specialized agents for specific stages of modernization.
The solution is designed to handle languages that AWS Transform does not support natively, such as VisualAge, Assembly, and RPG. This comprehensive approach has already shown significant results in various projects. For one insurance client, the solution modernized approximately 3 million lines of COBOL and VisualAge code, with the project expected to be completed in about six months, compared to the original 18-month timeline. The discovery, legacy documentation, and backlog reconstruction stages ran 61% faster than in traditional approaches.
At one of Brazil’s largest financial services companies, modernizing 1.9 million lines of COBOL and JCL to Go cut development effort by 80%. At a global consumer goods company, migrating from .NET Framework to a modern architecture unified 15 regional ordering sites and made navigation 42% faster for sales teams. Together, these projects have modernized roughly 15 million lines of legacy code.
