AION Biosystems, a company that has been working to revolutionize temperature monitoring in healthcare, has been named a Quarterfinalist in the 2026 Digital Health & AI Awards. This recognition highlights the company's innovative approach to continuous temperature monitoring, which has the potential to significantly improve patient care and outcomes.

For more than 150 years, temperature has been a vital sign that has been checked a few times a day, often after an infection has already taken hold. AION Biosystems has developed TempShield, a wearable patch that continuously monitors body temperature for up to 90 days, taking 288 readings per day. This technology allows care teams to detect early shifts that can signal the onset of infection before symptoms appear, providing valuable time for intervention.

TempShield pairs the wearable patch with a clinical intelligence platform that flags potential infections in high-risk patients. This technology is designed to make continuous temperature monitoring as standard in infection care as continuous glucose monitoring is in diabetes care. By providing care teams with earlier warnings, AION's goal is to reduce hospitalization and mortality rates significantly.

The Digital Health & AI Awards, which recognize companies and innovations shaping the future of healthcare, are bringing together innovators from across digital health, AI, and healthcare technology. The annual competition evaluates companies based on their contributions to the health ecosystem, with leaders from healthcare, investment, technology, clinical care, and other areas of the health industry serving as judges.

AION Biosystems will advance through the next stage of judging, with Finalists announced on October 12, 2026. The competition will culminate at the Digital Health & AI Awards Grand Finale on November 16 at HLTH in Las Vegas, where the 2026 Rising Star and Best in Class winners will be announced live.

The Digital Health Hub Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to identifying, recognizing, and elevating the companies and innovations shaping the future of health, is hosting the awards.
