aiMotive Launches Professional Data Recording Solutions for Autonomous Driving

The aiMotive Rig is a compact, lightweight sensor configuration that focuses on LiDAR technology. It supports high-precision static world capture and offers robust AI-based auto-annotation of the static environment, HD map creation, and lane-related function benchmarking. The system is packaged with aiMotive's in-house developed recording software, aiRec, which includes built-in live sensor diagnostics and monitoring to ensure precise synchronization and high-quality data.

The aiMotive Rooftop Box is a more comprehensive multi-modal sensor suite. It combines a 6-camera Sony IMX728 array for complete 360° environmental coverage with dual Hesai LiDARs and the NovAtel PwrPak7D-E2 GNSS+INS enclosure. Like the Rig, the Rooftop Box is designed for easy installation on any vehicle platform and supports all aiData Rig capabilities. Additionally, it enables auto-annotation of dynamic actors, World Extractor neural reconstruction, and full ADAS/AD validation workflows. The Rooftop Box also ships World Extractor-ready out of the box, providing a complete pipeline from raw sensor data to neural reconstruction and simulation-ready synthetic environments.

Both systems rely on NovAtel's PwrPak7D-E2 for their precision foundation. This GNSS+INS technology provides high-precision positioning and timing for ego-motion estimation, making downstream annotation, map creation, and neural reconstruction reliable at scale.
