NEW FRANKEN, Wis., Oct. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Agra Energy, a renewable fuels technology company, has achieved a significant milestone with the successful demonstration of its Fischer Tropsch liquid fuels production at its new facility in New Franken, Wisconsin. The demonstration, which validates the company's technology at the highest stage of technology readiness level (TRL 9), marks a critical step toward commercializing its innovative process.

The core of Agra Energy's success lies in the HYCO1 CORE™ Catalyst, which converts carbon dioxide (CO₂) and renewable natural gas (RNG) from biogas into syngas for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. Unlike conventional biogas-to-liquids processes that discard CO₂ as a waste stream, the CORE™ Catalyst recycles this CO₂, increasing the syngas yield by more than 20 percent. This not only enhances the renewable fuel yield but also reduces emissions and carbon intensity of the fuels produced.

The New Franken facility has produced SAF and renewable naphtha from dairy-farm biogas, achieving the industry's highest yield using the HYCO1 CUBE™ technology and CORE™ Catalyst. The company's technology is designed to recover value from agricultural and other underutilized resources, supporting lower-carbon, and reduced-emission fuel production.

With the technology proven, Agra Energy and HYCO1 are now advancing on two fronts. The company is licensing its process to customers for their own facilities and developing additional company-owned plants targeting 150 to 250 barrels per day (BPD) of renewable fuel production each. These modular plants are designed to sit close to agricultural and other biogas sources, turning distributed waste streams into drop-in liquid fuels.

Agra Energy's goal is to contract 1,000 BPD of biogas-derived fuel production capacity by 2027. The company is now seeking project developers, off-take partners for its SAF and renewable naphtha, and capital partners to accelerate the deployment of this industry-leading technology.

HYCO1, Agra Energy's technology licensing collaborator, has developed a proprietary CUBE™ Technology, which includes Vantage™ reformers and CORE™ catalyst. This technology enables near-complete CO₂ conversion in a single reactor pass, producing low-cost, low-carbon intensity chemical-grade syngas (H₂ and CO) at commercial scale. The Vantage™ reformers are engineered to convert nearly 100% of CO₂ feedstock into syngas, with options for purified hydrogen and carbon monoxide.

The path to commercial scale for Agra Energy involves licensing the process to customers and developing additional company-owned plants. These plants will support the company's target of adding 1,000 BPD of renewable fuel production capacity from biogas by 2027. The modular plant size is designed to sit close to agricultural and other biogas sources, turning distributed waste streams into drop-in liquid fuels.

In summary, Agra Energy's successful demonstration at the New Franken facility marks a significant step toward commercializing its innovative Fischer Tropsch liquid fuels production process. The company is now poised to license its technology and build additional plants, aiming to significantly increase biogas-derived fuel production capacity by 2027.
