WATERTOWN, Mass., Sept. 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Addgene, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing barriers to research and fostering innovation, has introduced a new service to accelerate scientific progress. The Transfection-Ready DNA service allows researchers to order NGS-sequence-verified DNA from Addgene’s repository, which now includes over 27,000 plasmids in the Transfection-Ready format.

The service, launched in response to feedback from the scientific community, aims to streamline the research process by eliminating the need for bacterial cultivation or in-house miniprep. According to Greg Crescenzi, Vice President of Global Commercial Strategy and Partnerships at Addgene, the new offering will enable researchers to access the same plasmids they know and trust, now as high-purity, NGS-verified DNA.

Addgene’s Transfection-Ready DNA is available in two sizes: 50 µg and 100 µg, and every order arrives as purified plasmid DNA at a 1.0 µg/µL concentration. The DNA is ready to add directly to a transfection reaction, streamlining experiments and enabling scientists to advance innovation more efficiently. The company has optimized the production process to ensure that Transfection-Ready DNA consistently meets a low endotoxin specification of <1.0 EU/µg, supporting healthy cells and reliable transfections.

The service currently offers Transfection-Ready DNA in three of the most-requested areas of Addgene’s collection: CRISPR, imaging and reporters, and gene expression. The repository grows by 1,000-1,500 new plasmids each month, and the Transfection-Ready catalog will continue to expand alongside it. This means that researchers can look forward to a growing selection of plasmids to meet their research needs.

Addgene’s hallmark quality control and customer support are built into the Transfection-Ready DNA service. Every order undergoes whole-plasmid sequence verification, ensuring that the DNA is of the highest quality. The service is now available to academic and industry researchers through Addgene's online catalog.
