LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, October 12, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Independent UK blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Adam Sweet has released his third studio album, "Mortuary Blues," drawing inspiration from the unlikely setting of a derelict Victorian mortuary building where much of the work was completed. The album, which takes its name from this unique recording space, showcases a diverse range of musical styles, including classic rock, blues, country, and soul, while tackling contemporary issues such as the cost of living, burnout, and the uncertain future of the creative industries.

Sweet, known for his honest and integrity-driven songwriting, has collaborated with a variety of co-writers to bring fresh perspectives and influences to the album. The track list features a mix of energetic and soulful songs, from the swaggering "Full Moon Fight" to the soulful ballad "Ashes and Ice." The album is a collection that feels rooted in the past but very much of its own time, reflecting the current socio-economic and environmental climate.

Two singles have been released from the album so far. "Backstop," a co-write with Nashville-based hit songwriter Hugh Moffatt, was released at the start of 2026 and has received extensive radio play across Blues, Roots, and Country radio stations. "The Mortuary Blues," the latest single, has been receiving strong support from UK Independent Blues Broadcasters and has been playlisted on Joe Bonamassa's "Cutting Edge Blues" Spotify playlist.

The album, "Mortuary Blues," is available on all major digital platforms, Bandcamp, and directly from Adam Sweet's website, adamsweetmusic.com. Tracks 1, 5, and 10 are written by Adam Sweet, Garry Kroll, and Paddy Blight, while Tracks 2, 3, and 8 are written by Adam Sweet, Jas Scott, and Phoebe Little. Tracks 4 and 6 are written by Adam Sweet and Hugh Moffatt, and Track 7 is written by Adam Sweet, Hugh Moffatt, and Tom Hughes. The album was produced and mixed by Adam Sweet, with additional mixing by Tom Hughes, and mastered by Alex McCollough at True East Mastering in Nashville.

Sweet is currently touring the UK in support of "Mortuary Blues," with full tour dates and ticket information available on his official website. The album is set to be released on Friday, October 2, 2026, in CD, vinyl, digital, and streaming formats, under the label Mortuary Music.
