Accucold Expands Ultra Low Temp Freezer Line

BRONX, NY, UNITED STATES, October 6, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Accucold, a leading provider of purpose-built medical and life science equipment, has expanded its Performance Series with the introduction of upright ultra low temperature dual shield freezers designed for the long-term storage of temperature-sensitive materials in various environments, including academia, laboratories, pharmaceutical and biotech research, hospitals, and pharmacies.

The new freezers, available in 18.7 cubic feet (530 liters) and 27.5 cubic feet (780 liters) sizes, are designed to maintain a temperature of -86 degrees Celsius. These freezers feature two redundant compressors that operate independently to ensure continuous protection. In the event of a compressor failure, the second compressor continues to operate, allowing the freezer to maintain a temperature of -80 degrees Celsius. The dual shield models also incorporate VIP vacuum insulation and insulated inner doors to accelerate temperature recovery from door openings.

Additional security features include a 10-inch high-resolution touchscreen that displays the current interior and ambient temperature at all times. Staff can manage the temperature, access operational records and data curves, and track inventory through the controls, which are accessible via password, facial recognition, fingerprint, or NFC cards (included). Records can also be exported via the USB port. Each dual shield freezer includes multiple access ports to allow additional monitoring equipment to be installed if needed.

Accucold’s ultra low freezers operate quietly under 54 decibels, not disturbing workflow. The units are ENERGY STAR certified and utilize environmentally-friendly hydrocarbon refrigerants. They can operate with standard 120V or 220V outlets, and both a NEMA 5-15P and NEMA 6-15P power cord is included for facilities to adjust when needed. Accucold manufactures compatible freezer racks in its New Jersey fabrication facility.
