The game, developed for a worldwide audience, aims to bridge the gap between casual arcade racers and more complex PC simulation setups.

Formula Ride combines high-speed open-wheel competition with elements of driving skill and tactical decision-making. Players must balance speed with tyre management, vehicle condition, and pit-stop strategy to compete for race victories and championship points. The game offers four core racing modes: Career, Championship, Quick Race, and Classic.

In the Career mode, players progress through racing tiers, unlock vehicles, and develop their racing reputation. Championship mode features 10 teams with two drivers each, creating a 20-driver field for a season-long competition with points-based standings. Quick Race allows players to customize race length, difficulty, and car setups for shorter sessions, while Classic mode offers racing inspired by earlier generations of open-wheel cars, emphasizing vehicle control and driving precision.

Race management adds another dimension to the competition. Tyre wear affects grip and braking, while front-wing damage influences speed and handling. Safety car deployments, penalties, and race interruptions challenge players to adapt their strategy as conditions change.
