60,000 participants in 19th annual 9/11 Heroes Run
On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, more than 60,000 participants across 100+ communities nationwide are set to come together in a powerful show of unity through the 19th annual 9/11 Heroes Run organized by the Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) in collaboration with CVS Health. The event, which runs from September 5 through October, aims to honor the heroes of 9/11 and the service members who have continued to step up in the years since.
"This September, as we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we are reminded that 'Never Forget' is more than just a slogan—it's a call to action," said Ryan Manion, CEO of Travis Manion Foundation. "Through the 9/11 Heroes Run, we gather to remember, serve, and strengthen our communities, ensuring that the spirit of unity and service that followed the tragedy continues to inspire future generations."
The 9/11 Heroes Run was inspired by 1stLt Travis Manion, USMC, who was killed in Iraq in 2007. Before his final deployment, he visited New York City Fire Department Rescue Company 1, profoundly inspired by the courage of first responders. In 2008, the first 9/11 Heroes Run was held in Doylestown, PA, where Travis grew up.
This year, the event takes on a new dimension with CVS Health stepping in as the National Title Sponsor. Participants in the 9/11 Heroes Run come from all walks of life, including veterans, first responders, and civilians. The event offers a tangible way for people of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and the service members who followed. "By gathering locally to remember and honor, we ensure that the meaning of 9/11 and the spirit of unity are carried forward," added Manion.
Each 9/11 Heroes Run supports TMF's broader mission to invest in veterans and families of the fallen, inspiring future generations to lead with character.
