BUFFALO, N.Y., Oct. 16, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Rosina Food Products, a Buffalo-based pasta maker, has revealed insights into American pasta night habits through its 2026 Pasta Night Report. The survey, conducted among 1,009 U.S. adults, found that 34% of Americans have served store-bought frozen filled pasta and let others believe it was homemade. For generations in the Rosina family, homemade pasta meant flour on the counter, a long afternoon, and their Nonna Rose overseeing every step. However, on busy weeknights, sometimes dinner starts with tortellini from the freezer and a jar of sauce.

The report highlights that 62% of respondents find frozen pasta helpful for managing busy weeknights, with 47% always keeping it stocked and 32% calling frozen filled pasta a regular staple in their kitchens. Spaghetti tops the list, with 40% of Americans preferring it, followed by stuffed shells (15%) and ravioli (14%). Meatballs are a common accompaniment, with 68% of respondents considering them a go-to ingredient on pasta night. When it comes to pasta preferences, 49% of Americans prefer cheese-stuffed pasta, while 51% favor classic varieties. Marinara sauce reigns supreme, with 44% of respondents choosing it, followed by Alfredo (31%) and vodka sauce (8%). Interestingly, 86% of those surveyed reject ketchup as a pasta topping.

Ahead of National Pasta Day on October 17, Rosina is making a significant contribution to the community by donating 40,536 pounds of Celentano tortellini and ravioli, totaling about 112,000 servings, to FeedMore WNY, a regional food bank serving Buffalo. This donation builds on Rosina's longstanding commitment to feeding local families. In March, the company donated 4,400 pounds of frozen meatballs, which equates to 552,000 meatballs, enough for approximately 100,800 meals, to FeedMore WNY for National Meatball Day.

The 2026 Pasta Night Report is based on a September 2026 online survey of 1,009 U.S. adults who consumed or prepared pasta in the previous three months and offers a national snapshot of pasta consumption habits, preferences, and perceptions. Respondents were recruited through TapResearch's consumer panel, and results were weighted to reflect the U.S. Census age distribution.
