The 2026 Oceanview USA Pickleball National Championships are set to return to Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego from October 31 to November 8. This nine-day championship features elite competition and is open to free general admission for fans, making it a significant event for both athletes and spectators.

First held in 2009, the USA Pickleball National Championships have established themselves as the sport’s longest-standing national championship. This year’s event will bring together a diverse array of players, including junior competitors, collegiate athletes, accomplished amateurs, wheelchair participants, and elite professionals. The qualification-based pathway ensures that athletes from across the United States and around the world have the opportunity to compete for national titles.

The 2026 championship will celebrate the dedication and perseverance required to reach the national stage, with the theme "THE STAGE IS EARNED. NOT GIVEN." This year’s event is expected to be a highlight of the pickleball calendar, with a wide range of activities and experiences available for attendees.

The 2025 event, which preceded this year’s championship, was a resounding success, welcoming approximately 10,000 attendees. Among these were more than 2,500 athletes from 47 states and 20 countries, generating an estimated $3 million in regional economic impact. The 2026 event is anticipated to build on this success, offering fans and the community a chance to experience the excitement of the sport.

In addition to the main competition, the 2026 Oceanview USA Pickleball National Championships will feature several special events. On November 3, a concert on the court will take place, with proceeds benefiting USA Pickleball Serves. The event will also include Future Champions Day on October 30, where approximately 200 children ages 5-18 from the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Diego’s Oakes, Payne, and Encanto clubs will participate in hands-on instruction, athlete interactions, and behind-the-scenes championship experiences.

For those looking to experience the championship in a more premium setting, VIP and Championship Court experiences will be available from November 4 to 8. These experiences offer an up-close view of elite professional competition and can be purchased through the official website.

Media credentials for the event are available, with an application deadline of October 29, 2026. USA Pickleball, the official national governing body for the sport, is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the game while advancing its growth and development nationwide. The organization supports players, clubs, and communities by sanctioning premier tournaments, offering certified equipment testing, training referees, certifying facilities, and providing a wide range of educational resources.

USA Pickleball is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that maintains and updates the official rules of the sport, ensuring consistency and fairness at every level of play. Led by a board of directors and a dedicated national office staff, USA Pickleball delivers the infrastructure and strategic vision necessary to fuel the continued expansion of pickleball across the country, benefiting members with exclusive access to events, programs, and tools that elevate their experience on and off the court.
