In a significant move to enhance the security of AI-driven financial services, 1stProtect and WealthRyse have partnered to integrate real-time, on-device enforcement mechanisms into WealthRyse’s AI-native portfolio system. This collaboration aims to address the growing risks associated with AI agents taking action, ensuring that their actions align with predefined boundaries set by security and compliance teams.
WealthRyse, an AI-native technology company founded in 2024 by David Lee, Anthony Choi, and Jasmine Lee, has developed automated portfolio calculation, optimisation, and analytics systems for licensed financial institutions. The company’s system supports risk analysis, scenario and stress testing, and objective model construction, integrating seamlessly with bank, brokerage, and insurance systems via API.
The partnership with 1stProtect, a runtime security company, will see the deployment of 1stProtect’s SIGMA engine alongside WealthRyse’s AI agents. The SIGMA engine, built by veterans of CrowdStrike, Symantec, and Cisco, governs the actions AI agents and models are allowed to take, enforcing boundaries in real time, on-device, and fully offline. Its sub-100-millisecond latency and lack of kernel drivers ensure efficient and secure operations.
Kervin Pillay, CEO of 1stProtect, emphasized the importance of defining and enforcing AI agent mandates.
The planned integration will place 1stProtect’s SIGMA engine within WealthRyse’s portfolio workflows, ensuring that client data remains within the institution’s environment. This deployment is designed to support the security and data-handling requirements of regulated deployments in Hong Kong and beyond, providing financial institutions with a robust solution to safeguard their AI-driven operations.
The partnership between 1stProtect and WealthRyse underscores the growing importance of securing AI systems in financial services. By integrating real-time, on-device enforcement, the collaboration aims to provide a comprehensive solution that addresses the complex challenges of AI security in the financial sector. The SIGMA engine’s ability to run a suite of protection modules in user space with sub-100-millisecond latency and no kernel drivers ensures that the system operates efficiently and securely, aligning with the stringent requirements of financial institutions.
Both companies are committed to ensuring that AI agents operate within the boundaries set by their clients, thereby upholding fiduciary responsibility and client trust. The integration of 1stProtect’s technology into WealthRyse’s portfolio system will provide financial institutions with a robust and secure solution to safeguard their AI-driven operations, ensuring that they can leverage the benefits of AI while maintaining compliance and security standards.
